Quick start
From nothing to Google results as JSON in about a minute.
1. Create a free account
Sign up with Google. No credit card is needed, and you get 1,000 free credits every month.
2. Copy your API key
It is on the API key page of your dashboard. Keep it on your server (see Authentication).
3. Send a search
Pick your language on the right, put your key in place of YOUR_API_KEY and run it. The request asks Google for “coffee shops” from the United States, in English.
4. Read the JSON
The results are in organic_results: each one has its position, title, real link and snippet. Other blocks, such as the map pack in local_results or People also ask in related_questions, appear when Google shows them. That search cost one credit.
