One credit per results page, as for every search. Failed requests are free.
The ScraperData Google AI Overview API returns Google's AI Overview, the generated answer at the top of many results pages, as JSON: its text split into paragraphs, headings and list items, and the pages it cites as sources. It comes with a normal search request whenever Google shows one, at no extra cost.
Request parameters
These are the ones that matter here. Every other parameter of a live search works too, such as gl, hl, num_pages and device.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
q | string | requiredThe search query.Example: how does a heat pump work |
Response
The list is ai_overview. Each item has these fields when Google shows them:
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
ai_overview.text_blocks | array | The answer in order, each block a paragraph, heading or list item |
ai_overview.references | array | The pages the answer cites, with title and link |
related_questions | array | People also ask questions on the same page |
organic_results | array | The normal results under the answer |
Google does not show an AI Overview for every query. When it does not, the response has no ai_overview key.
Good for
- Tracking whether your brand is cited in AI answers
