Is the AI Overview in every response?
Only when Google shows one for that query. Then the response has an ai_overview object; otherwise the key is missing.
Does it cost more than a normal search?
No. The AI Overview comes with the same request and the same one credit per page.
Can I see which pages the AI Overview cites?
Yes. ai_overview.references lists the cited pages with their titles and links, so you can check whether your site is one of them.
