Credits

One credit per results page, as for every search. Failed requests are free.

The ScraperData Google News API returns the articles Google shows in its News tab for any query as JSON: the headline, the article's real link, the publisher, a snippet and when it was published, as text and as a Unix timestamp. Add type=news to a search request; each page of about 10 articles costs one credit.

Request parameters

These are the ones that matter here. Every other parameter of a live search works too, such as gl, hl, num_pages and device.

FieldTypeDescription
qstringrequiredThe search query.Example: electric vehicles
typestringrequiredSet it to news for this list.Values:news

Response

The list is news_results. Each item has these fields when Google shows them:

FieldTypeDescription
positionintegerRank in the news list
titlestringThe headline
linkstringThe article's real address
sourcestringThe publisher
snippetstringThe first lines of the article
datestringWhen it was published, as Google shows it ("3 hours ago")
timestampintegerThe same moment as a Unix timestamp, easy to sort and store

Use gl and hl to follow the news of one country and language, and page or num_pages to go back further.
