How it works

Search, then let the model read

Wrap one GET request as a tool your agent can call. It gets structured results back in a few seconds, with links it can open and cite.

A simple tool call

One GET request with plain parameters, easy to describe to any model.

Sources to cite

Every link is the page's real address, ready to quote or fetch.

Google's own answer

The AI Overview's paragraphs and references, when Google shows one.

Search data an agent can use

Google's AI answer, split into paragraphs

ai_overview.text_blocks holds the answer's paragraphs and lists, and ai_overview.references the pages it was built from. Google does not show an AI Overview for every query; when it does not, the key is left out.

Organic results to read and cite

Titles, snippets and real links give the model enough to answer, and the links to open when it needs the full page. Each request searches Google live; API answers are never cached.

The questions people ask next

related_questions holds Google's People also ask, a good list of follow-ups for an agent to explore or for an answer to cover.

Google's own page when you want it

Set response_type=html for the results page itself, or both for the HTML next to the JSON, when your pipeline does its own parsing.

Request
curl -G "https://api.scraperdata.com/v1/search" \
  -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
  --data-urlencode "q=how does a heat pump work" \
  -d response_type=both

Frequently asked questions

How fresh are the results?

Every request searches Google at the moment you call, and API answers are not cached, so the model reads what a searcher sees now.

Does every query have an AI Overview?

No. Google shows one only for some queries. When there is none, the answer has no ai_overview key, and organic results are still there.

How long does a search take?

Usually 2 to 4 seconds per results page. Several pages in one request are fetched at the same time.

Can I use it with function calling?

Yes. It is a plain GET request with query parameters and a JSON answer, so any model with tool or function calling can use it.
